Hello there! Doula Yaya here! My passion for all things womanhood, birth, family, and the never-ending quest of learning and growing while building a strong community foundation began with my magical childhood in the Olympic National Rainforest.

My birth training began on Oahu, HI while shadowing a local midwife. Then in Northern California at the Sierra Childbirth Institute. I moved back to San Diego to volunteer and work at University of California San Diego (UCSD) Jacobs Medical Center with Hearts and Hands Doulas. Next, I will be training with Jesse Remer at Mother Tree Birth in Portland, Or in December 2025 to complete THW requirements and certification.

I aim to become a community hub of all things pregnancy/birth/postpartum/family. To spread joy through movement, health and well-being, support, trust, and advocacy.

Where one becomes many and we create the life of our daydreams. We are the village, if we participate.

Fun facts about me: I married my best friend at the beginning of 2025! I love to explore, camp, backpack, and travel! I am totally obsessed with Lord of the Rings, my siblings (I have 4 and my husband is 1 of 15), and all things magical and beautiful in life! I have an extensive record collection and I play the clarinet!
